Busy final day of campaigning for candidates in 12th district special election

Supporters and fellow political figures are on the trail with House hopefuls today in the 12th district, where Republican Tim Burns and Democrat Mark Critz are battling to succeed the late John P. Murtha.

Burns, Critz and Libertarian Demo Agoris are on the ballot in the special election to complete the remainder of Murtha's term, through the end of the year.

In Tuesday's primary elections for the 12th district's next term, Burns is joined on the Republican ballot by William Russell, while Critz is on the Democratic ballot with Ron Mackell Jr. and Ryan Bucchianeri.

Burns will make a series of stops across the district today, culminating in a GOP rally with Attorney General Tom Corbett at 4:30 p.m. at Richland Fire Hall in Johnstown.
