Clinton backs Critz at rally

JOHNSTOWN —President Bill Clinton told the crowd at the Frank J. Pasquerilla Center in Johnstown to get out and vote for Mark Critz.

Critz, a Democrat, is running to fill the remainder of U.S. Rep. John Murtha's term in office in the 12th Congressional District. Clinton urged attendees to tell everyone they run into to get out and vote for Critz.

“And if you do that, John Murtha will be up there smiling down on us and you'll be better off,” he told the crowd of about 1,200.

Clinton, who has made several trips to Johnstown said he simply loves the area.

“I feel at home here,” he said.

He said another reason he decided to attend Sunday's rally was his love for Murtha.

“John Murtha was my friend,” he said. “He always supported me, except when we played golf.<...
