I just heard Steve Cohen (D-Tenn) being interviewed by Stuart Varney on Fox News. Cohen insinuated that John Murtha went into surgery, had his gallbladder perforated by the doctor, and people like him would be against tort reform because they need to be able to sue [for malpractice]. This is an incredible thing to even hint at.
We have no idea what happened to Murtha after his gallbladder surgery. There is nothing to indicate that any physician did anything wrong, nor is there anything to indicate that any lawsuit would be filed. This is pure fantasy on the part of Cohen, a far-left Democrat in favor of government-run health care.
Democrats have been interviewed all day concerning the upcoming health care summit planned by Barack Obama. The question most asked is, "If Republicans want tort reform included in a health care bill, will Democrats be willing to include it?" Not one Democrat that I heard would say "yes". The health care summit will, finally after over a year, include Republicans. Obama said over the weekend that he wants to listen to Republican ideas.
No, what he wants is to find some RINOs who will "walk across the isle" and betray conservatives so they can prove they can "all get along" and be "bi-partisan".
John Murtha was hospitalized in December for a gallbladder issues, he had laproscopic gallbladder surgery, and was admitted to intensive care for complications. He died today at Virginia Hospital Center today. Murtha was 77 years old.
Steve Cohen should be ashamed of himself. ('ll see if I can find the video of the interview and post it here later.)
