Republican candidates for state and federal offices rallied Monday at the Richland Township Fire Department.
Speakers included gubernatorial candidate Tom Corbett, lieutenant governor candidate Jim Cawley, congressional candidate Tim Burns and U.S. Rep. Bill Shuster.
“Even though it's cold and rainy it doesn't stop Republicans from coming out,” Shuster told the crowd one day before the primary.
Shuster said this is one of the few times voters can cast two ballots for the same person in a single day. The congressman was referring to the 12th Congressional District race, which includes both the primary and a special election to find the late U.S. Rep. John Murtha's immediate successor.
Cawley, who is in a nine-way race for lieutenant governor, said he and running mate Corbett need the public's help.
