Veteran lawmakers Solobay, Levdansky win new terms

Two veteran state lawmakers won re-election in Tuesday's general election, although they took different paths to victory.

While State Rep. Timothy Solobay was easily handling two hopefuls, State Rep. Dave Levdansky survived a close call against a virtual unknown GOP opponent.

Solobay, a Democrat, received 11,376 votes, while GOP hopeful James S. Fal received 6,018. Demo Agoris, running on his self-titled Save Our State ticket, received just 241 votes.

Solobay said he won because he ran a clean campaign and ran on his record.

"It shows that honest, hard work pays off in the long run," Solobay said. "I've been working hard not only for this district, but for the commonwealth."

This was the second time that Agoris ran against Solobay, appearing on the ballot in 2000 as well.

Running with a slogan of "for the people," Agoris said refused all campaign contributions.
